Book Recommendation: The Multi-Orgasmic Woman/Man/Couple

While conversations around healthy expressions of sexuality, masculinity and femininity and of consent continue to progress and evolve, its fairly clear that we still haven't found a really good, positive and thorough way to educate future generations about sex beyond just biology, anatomy, STD and pregnancy prevention.  The fact is, good & healthy sex education is still severely lacking in many parts of the US and of the world and we still haven't established a lot of spaces for wisdom around sexuality to passed from generation to generation.

As a result, so many of us reach adulthood without an understanding of the true power potential of sexuality, of sexual energy and just how to activate it.  And we have no space to learn about the strong correlation between having a healthy relationship and deep understanding of our own body and our ability to have healthy and fulfilling relationships with others.

One of our favorite 'next-level sex education' texts is 'The Multi Orgasmic' book series by Mantak Chia, Maneewan Chia, Douglas Abrams and Rachel Carlton Adams, MD.  While these books (obviously) trend a little on the gender-binary, they books do a wonderful job of introducing an energetic (and not particularly gender-specific) approach to sex & sexuality.

Whether you're reading for yourself or to help improve your sex life as a couple, these books are packed with wonderful wisdom, knowledge and daily practices that help you to learn more about the body, about sexual energy and how it all works.  Rooted in Tantra and ancient eastern wisdom on the topic, they present the material clearly and provide regular practices to help you learn, understand and practice the cultivation and movement of orgasmic energy in your body.

Some of the fundamental ideas in these books include the notion that:

1) with practice, one can learn to disassociate sexual and sensual pleasure with the goal of orgasmic release

2) one can gain and/or master this ability like a martial art and can cultivate, hold and enjoy sexual energy with or without partnership.

3) that one can, through this energetic cultivation, regular practice, and a degree of mastery, plug one's entire life in to the rechargeable, sustainable and incredibly powerful battery of their own orgasmic energy.

These concepts and the practices themselves have all been incredibly influential and impactful on us, on our creative process, on the the work that we do in Red Temple and on our relationships with ourselves and with each other.

Wishing you all well on your journey.
